Over 35 years ago, a group of people with a strong passion to help the next generation decided to help kids navigate a changing culture and grow up to become responsible adults who love God. Out of this passion, HomeWord was born, and this passion spread as they partnered with parents and churches to help the whole family succeed. Their values became: Strong Marriages, Confident Parents, Empowered Kids and Healthy Leaders. 

HomeWord began creating life-changing resources while equipping influential leaders and partnering with churches around the world.  Today there are over 2 million resources offered in over 30 languages, all with the purpose to help families succeed.

In response to the overwhelming needs of parents and families, Jim Burns founded HomeWord in 1985. HomeWord is non-profit, donor supported ministry. HomeWord seeks to advance the work of God in the world by educating, equipping, and encouraging parents and churches to build God-honoring families from generation to generation.

Nicknox Communications was retained by HomeWord as a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer. In this capacity, she guided product launch strategy for new resources and events as well as ongoing marketing initiatives. Knox was a key partner of donor development, and heavily involved an the creation of bi-annual ministry reports, match campaigns and fundraising events showcasing high profile headliners including Amy Grant and others. As a leader in the faith-based publishing space, establishing Burns position as a thought-leader, author and speaker was a cornerstone of brand and message strategy.



Hi, I'm Nicole, the Nick behind Nicknox Communications.  For more than 30 years, I've brought uncommonly creative brand, marketing and communications strategies to life for organizations of all kinds.

I'm passionate about brand strategy, storytelling and fabulous creative. I also love to explore best practices in high EQ leadership, core values, relational marketing and resources + workflows that help creative teams bring their best to every project.
