In response to the overwhelming needs of parents and families, Jim Burns founded HomeWord in 1985. HomeWord is non-profit, donor supported ministry. HomeWord seeks to advance the work of God in the world by educating, equipping, and encouraging parents and churches to build God-honoring families from generation to generation.

HomeWord with Jim Burns
Nicknox Communications was retained by HomeWord as a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer. In this capacity, she guided product launch strategy for new resources and events as well as ongoing marketing initiatives. Knox was a key partner of donor development, and heavily involved an the creation of bi-annual ministry reports, match campaigns and fundraising events showcasing high profile headliners including Amy Grant and others. As a leader in the faith-based publishing space, establishing Burns position as a thought-leader, author and speaker was a cornerstone of brand and message strategy.

HomeWord with Jim Burns is the #1 provider of parenting seminars in the U.S. A former youth pastor, Jim Burns established HomeWord in partnership with Azusa Pacific University in response to the overwhelming needs of parents and families. The ministry offers events and resources with the ultimate vision of strong marriages, confident parents, empowered kids and healthy leaders.
Product Launch & Marketing Strategy
HomeWord releases a steady stream of new resources in multiple formats. Many of Jim's books are accompanied by rich online resources that help bring topics to life with next steps, conversation and study prompts. A frequent collaborator with other leaders and authors, Jim has co-authored several series with long-time partner and founder of Simply Youth Ministry.
Relational Donor Engagement
HomeWord hosts fundraisers and exclusive donor events throughout the year. Intimate benefit concerts with artists like Amy Grant are a highlight, as are destination weekend retreats that include rich teaching, relaxation and reconnection for couples and families.
Display
HomeWord needed multiple display elements to support their presence at key ministry and leadership events around the country, as well as creating a polished touch to incorporate at select donor events. The nonprofit's display package included booths, popup banners, table coverings and tabletop signage, and presented a simple visual message that reinforced mission and core values.
Message Strategy
Annual ministry reports were a key facet of HomeWord's overarching message strategy. Raising awareness of the ministry's mission and core values was foundational, as well offering updates on key initiatives and events and advance insight about upcoming projects and partnerships.
